Angel Reese secures his 14th straight double-double in the waning seconds as the Sky beat the Dream.

Chicago (AP)— Angel Reese's 14th straight double-double in the final seconds extended a WNBA record as the Chicago Sky defeated the Atlanta Dream 78-69 on Wednesday. Chennedy Carter added 19 points.

Carter forced a jump basket with 1:03 left, Chicago leading 70-69. Dana Evans missed her first free shot of the season in 33 attempts after Atlanta coach Tanisha Wright was punished for a technical foul.

Chicago grabbed possession and Carter made a free-throw jumper for 72-69.

Carter found Reese open beneath the hoop after an Atlanta miss with 25.8 left to lead by five.

Evans stole an inbounds pass and was fouled with 20.6 left before scoring two free throws for Chicago.

Marina Mabrey stopped an Atlanta attempt and passed to Reese, who was fouled with 6.4 seconds left. On his first double-double try, Reese earned a friendly roll.

On Sunday, Reese passed Candace Parker for the longest league double-double run with 11 points and 13 rebounds for Chicago (9-12). Kamilla Cardoso scored 10 and grabbed 11 for a double-double.

This was Reese and Cardoso's third double-double of the season, the most by a rookie combo in WNBA history. Allisha Grey scored 20 for Atlanta (7-14). Both Haley Jones and Naz Hillmon scored 12. The Dream were without Rhyne Howard, Jordin Canada, and Aerial Powers.
