Randy Travis opens up about his life-threatening stroke

According to his wife Mary, country music icon Randy Travis overcame a severe stroke in 2013 by leaning heavily on his faith.

Without our faith, there is no way we could have survived what we did. We spent nearly six months in the hospital.

Randy experienced periods of coma. I am aware that both he and God were in communication.

I'm aware that they spoke," Mary said in a joint interview with her husband with Rolling Stone Country.

She continued, "We leaned pretty hard on God." "We still do it every day. It's similar to the expression, "I walk by the grace of God." We feel precisely that way."

Randy was initially given less than 1% chance of survival by the doctors, but his incredible progress has defied all expectations.

Nevertheless, the singer's recovery from illness has not been easy.

It does get tedious, so he reached a point where he pretty much gave up on completing the rehab. When so much damage has been done, you move very slowly.
