Three former Longhorns in NBA Summer League

Over the next two weeks, the NBA Summer League will feature many Texas Longhorns.

Former players Max Abmas, Timmy Allen, and Dylan Disu will have a chance to prove themselves in the NBA to the public.

Allen is the only NBA player. The dynamic forward averaged 9.9 points and 3.4 rebounds in 30 Memphis Hustle games last season. During his first NBA stint, he averaged 2.6 points in five games with the Grizzlies.

Allen will seek to build on his achievements as the Grizzlies consider him a future player.

After joining the Utah Jazz, Ambas can prove his worth to the Longhorns.

He led Texas in scoring in 2023-2024 with 16.8 points per game. He also tied the UT single-season three-pointer record. His play garnered Ambas All-Big 12 First Team honours.

Disu was an undrafted free agent like Ambas. The Raptors believe he can score and defend like he did at Texas. Disu finished second in scoring and third in blocks in his final year at Austin.

Disu will wait to debut in the summer league, although Abmas and Allen have started. They both planned to play in the July 8–10 Salt Lake City Summer League. All NBA teams will compete in the July 12–22 NBA 2K25 Summer League.
