Turtle Pie Recipe

Crust: – 1 1/2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs (such as Oreo) – 1/4 cup melted butter

Caramel Layer: – 1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade) – 1 cup chopped pecan

Chocolate Filling: – 8 oz semisweet chocolate, chopped – 1 cup heavy cream – 1/4 cup unsalted butter

Whipped Cream Topping: – 1 cup heavy cream – 2 tablespoons powdered sugar – 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Garnish: – Extra caramel sauce – Extra chopped pecan – Chocolate shavings or chocolate chips (optional)

Prepare the Crust: – Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). – In a medium bowl, mix together the chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter until well combined.

– Press the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie dish. Bake the crust for 8-10 minutes, then let it cool completely. – 

Make the Chocolate Filling: – Place the chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl. – In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream and butter over medium heat until it just begins to simmer.

– Pour the chocolate filling over the caramel and pecans in the crust, spreading it out evenly. – Refrigerate the pie for at least 2 hours, or until the chocolate filling is set.
